What to expect

Depending on the reason for your visit and the nature of the treatment, your initial experience might evoke feelings such as apprehension, nervousness, anxiety, uncertainty, or doubt. However, our primary goal is to ensure that you do not experience any of these emotions. If, at any point, you feel dissatisfied or have questions, please do not hesitate to communicate with us.

Throughout the assessment and treatment process, we will consistently seek your consent to ensure that you are comfortable and informed every step of the way. If you desire the presence of a chaperone, we encourage you to arrange for one and inform us accordingly. Your well-being and peace of mind are of paramount importance to us, and we are here to accommodate your needs and concerns.

What happens on your first Osteopathic Treatment

The initial appointment typically lasts for approximately an hour. The first 30 minutes involve a comprehensive case history assessment. This includes in-depth inquiries regarding your current issue, your overall health, and any pertinent health-related information.

Following this, a physical examination ensues, normally down to the underwear as the body is viewed as a whole, though you may choose to bring shorts or leggings for your comfort. The therapist will assess your posture while standing and may request simple movements to aid in forming a diagnosis.

Subsequently, your therapist will provide a diagnosis and propose a treatment plan. The remainder of the time is dedicated to treatment. Towards the conclusion of the session, your therapist will reevaluate your standing posture, discuss the progress made, and, if necessary, outline further steps.  Acupuncture or dry needling techniques may also be incorporated into the treatment if it is thought to be beneficial and with your consent.

What happens on your first Acupuncture Session?

Your acupuncturist will begin with a thorough consultation. They'll ask questions about your medical history, current health concerns, and lifestyle. This helps them understand your specific needs and tailor the treatment accordingly.

Based on the information gathered, your acupuncturist will develop a treatment plan. They will explain what they intend to address during the session, whether it's a specific ailment, pain management, stress reduction, or overall well-being.
