Principal Osteopath
David Feherty
Registered Osteopath & Principal
David's path to osteopathy was anything but conventional. He holds a degree in construction, has completed the Three Peaks Challenge, run marathons, spent years coaching ju-jitsu under 10th dan David Flaherty of the World Ju-Jitsu Federation, and danced ballroom and Latin. That background shapes how he thinks about the body, not as a textbook diagram, but as something that gets pushed, loaded, tested, and occasionally broken.
He began his hands-on healthcare career in 1999, qualifying as a massage therapist and sports massage therapist before going on to teach massage and Indian head massage at Macclesfield College. That foundation in soft tissue work, combined with years of clinical practice, gave him a depth of understanding he brought into his osteopathic training.
Now GOsC-registered and TPI-certified, David works from the founding principles of osteopathy: the whole body, the whole person, every time. He has built one of the most established private practices on the Fylde Coast, treating patients across Blackpool and Lancaster, and is the only TPI-certified osteopath in the area. TPI stands for the Titleist Performance Institute, the world's leading authority on how the body affects the golf swing, which adds a golf-specific dimension to David's work with local golfers.
Alongside core osteopathic treatment, David specialises in acupuncture, dry needling, and craniosacral therapy, and is trained with the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy in the classical cranial osteopathic approach. These are integrated where clinically appropriate rather than offered as separate service lines.
David treats at the Blackpool clinic on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and at the Lancaster clinic by appointment. He is available for calls on Tuesday and Thursday.
Osteopath, Fridays & Saturdays
Reece Jones
Registered Osteopath
Reece's path into osteopathy started early, at 16, a Thai boxing injury put him face-to-face with hands-on healthcare for the first time. That experience stayed with him. He went on to train as a sports massage therapist, working with active adults and athletes, before deciding to pursue a full degree in osteopathy.
He graduated with a BOst (Hons) in Osteopathy in 2024 and has quickly developed a reputation for a calm, methodical approach that puts patients at ease. He specialises in structural osteopathy and sports injuries, working particularly well with active adults, gym-goers, and those dealing with persistent back, neck, or joint pain.
Reece also practises in Solihull on Mondays and at Osteopath Redditch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, alongside his Blackpool commitments.
Manual Therapist, Mondays
Ceciel Tomlinson
Manual Therapist
Ceciel joins Osteopath Blackpool as our Manual Therapist. She holds a Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Manipulation, and is currently in her final year of osteopathy studies at the University of Derby. She is also working towards a Pilates instructor qualification.
Her focus is the everyday side of feeling better: easing muscle tension, supporting recovery, and helping people feel more comfortable and confident when they move. Many people see her between osteopathy appointments, or simply want regular hands-on manual therapy as part of looking after an active body.
Ceciel offers appointments that work well for new parents, including mum and baby friendly sessions. She shares the same whole-person approach as the rest of the team, and will always refer on to David or Reece, or to your GP, when that is the right next step.
Our practitioners approach care from the same philosophical foundation, the whole-person principles at the heart of osteopathy. Different roles, different specialisms, the same commitment to understanding what is driving your symptoms, not just managing them.
